Forgot to mention...

....I am doing a half marathon on Sunday (thought it was Saturday, good thing I checked).....

Now this is suppose to be my tune up for my "A" race in two weeks in Green Bay, so for some reason, I "thought" in my mind of lazy minds, it would be a nice zone 1 or zone 2 level run....guess my coach has other plans....

"Race miles plan:

1-3 build to top Z2 by the mile one mark but don't be too fast to get there.
4-10 mid Z3
11-13 top Z3 to low Z4 "

WOW...so I have to get in the right mindset for this now....I hate to see what my Green Bay race plan will look like.... guess it'll be all zone 4 and 5 in two weeks. Start out fast, hope to not pass out, and try to finish....

Hide the women and children, this could get ugly.

The cool thing about the run though, is that a large contigency from my tri group will be there, so it will be fun to see everyone start, perhaps run with some, and then if I'm not last in, see some finish (They are a skinny, fast bunch, guess who's the odd man out there?)

On a side note, go check out Twitter, you'll notice the little add-on to my sidebar (The Clyde 24/7)...as if this blog isn't enough, now I can update you whenever/wherever I am through short texts on my cellphone. It's pretty sweet. So far this has been the BEST USE I can think of for it. So for The Clyde's sake, please pay attention to that. Please.

I may or may not have....

......held 6:37 min/miles today for two miles.

Granted:

..... they were two 1 mile intervals with a 90 second rest inbetween.

.....they were on the treadmill with .5 incline in perfect conditions and not outside.

....but still, 6:37 min/miles for a Clyde? I'll take it. I owe a lot to this guy and his weekly torture sessions, especially all this speed work of late, but it really seems to be starting to pay off.

(Oh, on a side note, my right hammy is coming around, slowly but surely. (Knock on wood.) It's an injury I have not disclosed to you all, but it's been pretty painful the last three weeks, this week has been MUCH less pain, just a little bit every now and then. The stretching and icing must be working, two ice baths included, "the boys" are still mad at me for those.)

Everyone go wish Megan well. Two weeks ago she finishes her first Ironman, this week she donates a kidney to a less than grateful family member. Unbelieveable.

IM on the brain.

After following Megan on Sunday in her quest to finish IMAZ (which she did handily in horrible conditions, Congrats again Megan!!!).....my mind has been constantly thinking about IMWI in Sept.......especially this.......

....it's funny to think how many times I've ran under that IM arch and onto that grey carpet already in my mind.......less than 5 months and ticking......

New Header...

...oh yeah, I feel big time now......I know, I know, it's pretty bad, but bear with me.

It's my first ever header. Really my first ever time working with photo enhancing software (besides basic red eye removal, which any monkey can do). I'll be doing a few more just to tinker around with the program, but I spent 2 hours on the stupid imagine above, so you better bet your ass I'm going to put it up, no matter how bad it is.

Oh, and if anyone wants FREE photoshopping esque, software, try Gimp, it's what I used....totally free and there's quite a bit you can do with it.

Show some love...

Go here.

Show Megan some support, even if you're just a lurker here, go there and wish her luck.....This is a gal I've come to know over the last year (as well as her boyfriend), that was going to attempt IMAZ last year, did all the training for months and months, only to have her dream taken away from her due to some back problems 6 weeks before go time. Her IM dreams were over.

Did she quit? No, she got better, got back on the horse and started training this year again for it.

Sunday, she will ROCK the course!! She will become an Iron(wo)Man!!!

Go get 'em Megan!!!!

(and Cheese lay off the Heart Attack Grill out there, OK?)
