Don't get it...

How funny is it that I'll go home and run anywhere from 4-6 miles a night, but yet going downstairs (I work on the sixth floor of a building) in the elevator to get something from the front desk gives me such a desire for procrastination to go get the package?

Anyways, I've been keepin on, keeping on. I am doing another 5k this weekend and am aiming for a sub 24:00 minute time...I think I'll be able to do it, I'm running the trail tomorrow to see where the hills are and how I should pace myself. That's all for now.

And Then..

...it happens. From somewhere unexplainable you feel it. Your heart is pumping so hard, your body is saying no, your legs are logs, your mind is numb...and then all of sudden it comes, the ray of hope out of no where, where karma gently pushes you along and gives you a hand. Suddenly you are light, suddenly your legs are just turning over, suddenly everything is flat, even the hills, and it's in those moments that one appreciates what they are doing, it's there that all the smirks people give you, all the "you're crazy's", all the "why do you do that's", it's there where it all makes sense. It's there where our spirit is closest to where it should be, it's there where so many others will never be, and you understand that it's not there for everyone, but for me it's there. Life is calm, peaceful, even though everything is moving at a million miles per hour, it's there, and it's there where you simply float from one step to the next, it's there, until it's your time to return back to earth until the next time. Landed.

But the great thing is, is that, now you know, you know it's there for you tomorrow, you just have to go out and grab that hand again.

Hello everyone (well at least me) it's been so long since my last post, but it's been a crazy week. Went to Vegas last Wednesday through Sunday and absolutely destroyed myself by eating bad, drinking and getting none to little sleep. I did manage two 40 minute runs somehow on the treadmill there though, but it was tough.

Anyways back on the horse now again, did a 4 miler Monday and had my 2nd swim session last night (45 minutes). It's funny because I thought I'd be much further behind in my swimming than where I am at...I am really hardly out of breath, I think it relates to me being conditioned by running, really the only thing that is sore is a few shoulder muscles, but I expect that to subside with a few more swim sessions. So I am focusing on form and how to get faster in the water. I do love swimming though, it's nice to break up the running (since I don't have bike yet - going to wait for the fall clearance and buy some rollers and get some time in over the winter)and since it's been so hot here, it's nice to get cooled off as well...overall I am looking forward to the spring and doing a ton of events next year...ending with a half iron-man next fall.

So that's all for now, a boring post at best, but it's all I have right now.
